Using Arooqa
Do I need an account?
No. You can keep your family's history on your device without an account.
Is my history backed up?
Arooqa does not back up your history. To keep a copy or move to a new phone, export an archive in Settings. It includes your records and original documents.
Original documents may also be included in your device's own backups, according to your settings. Read about backups and privacy.
Can I export my history?
Yes. In Settings, export the whole family history, including original documents, or restore from an archive. You can also share an emergency summary as a PDF.
Something not working?
The app will not open
Update the app and restart your device. If it still will not open, send us a message with your device model, OS version, and app version.
A record is not showing
Check the family member and event date. Records appear in the history under the date of the event, which may be different from the date you entered them.
What does “Not checked by you” mean?
Arooqa read the information from a document, and you have not confirmed it. Open the record to compare it with the original, correct it, or leave it out. Saving a record does not mark it as checked.
A document could not be opened or read
For a protected PDF, import an unlocked copy. For a blurry, cropped, or damaged file, try a clearer photo or PDF.
If Arooqa can open the document but cannot read some details, the original is kept. Review the listed gaps or select wording from the page to start a record yourself. No listed gaps does not guarantee that every detail was captured.
Handwriting, unfamiliar layouts, and untested languages may need manual entry. Documents are not sent to a cloud reader.
Which documents can I keep?
Arooqa keeps accepted JPEG, PNG, HEIC/HEIF, and PDF originals. Tested printed lab and prescription fields may be suggested for review. Other documents can be kept as references or used for guided entry from wording you select.
